Step 1

Log in to your TD Ameritrade account, and navigate to Client Services >> My Profile >> General

Step 2

Under My Profile, under Elections & routing, find Margin trading and click Apply.

Step 3

Fill in your personal information. This will help TD Ameritrade determine if you will be granted margin capabilities for your account.

After following these steps...

If you are approved for margin capabilities, it will be added to your account in one business day.
